Frequently Asked Questions About Volunteering

Who can volunteer?

Anyone! We have individuals of all ages, school and church groups, former referrals, and court-ordered adults and juveniles (non-violent), all serving together!

What would I do?

That’s up to you! Volunteers tend to choose to do tasks like clean or furniture, customer service, move furniture or serve on the truck crew, or decorating.

When do you need help?

We are a flexible serving opportunity. You can serve regularly, stop by if you have some time, or ask to be contacted if we need additional help.

What if something comes up, and I have to skip or leave my shift?

That’s ok! When possible, we ask for 24 hours notice. However, life happens! We believe that when our volunteers are able to take care of themselves, their loved ones, and their concerns, they are best equipped to take care of those that enter our doors.

Why volunteer with HAF?

Time is the one thing we can never make more of, and we are so grateful you choose to spend yours with us! Volunteers are able to see what comes in first, they receive in-store credit as small thank you, they can receive recommendation letters, as well as meet a lot of other locals every day while making a tangible impact in your community!
